Alternate Dictionary is a free program to create dictionaries for abbreviations or foreign words.

The program contains an easy to use interface, allowing you to edit data with an external application (e.g., MS Excel or Open Office/Libre Office Calc). Alternate Dictionary runs in the background; the program can watch the clipboard and display translations for the matching content. Another feature is the built-in training unit. Additionally, the program offers the ability to translate whole sentences or short text passages.
